Energy security is a major strategic issue related to sustainable economic development, long-term national security and people’s well-being. Energy resources, especially oil and gas resources, are strategic resources, economic resources, diplomatic resources and military resources. Facing the new situation and new challenges in the international energy market, how to promote China ’s energy revolution, adjust its energy development strategy, and ensure the security of China ’s oil and gas supply is a major issue that must be taken seriously.
This book summarizes the previous research results related to this topic, sorts out the oil resources, production and consumption situation along the Belt and Road and the GCC countries, discusses the current status of oil cooperation between China and the GCC countries, and explores the potential of oil cooperation between China and the GCC. It analyzes the opportunities and challenges of China's oil reserves, and points out that the establishment of a joint oil stockpiling could be a new way to deepen and consolidate the oil cooperation relationship between China and the GCC. It is hoped that the research results in this book can not only provide decision-making reference for China's energy development, but also provide reference for professionals and ordinary readers.
